Hello families,
Here's a recap of our parent meeting on 3/6. Thanks so much for your presence and your willingness to engage each other in faith conversations!
There are a variety of options available for you and your family this Lent. We certainly don't expect you to do them all! Even us paid churchy people have trouble fitting everything in! The key is to find what God is calling your family to right now, and to make the space for that. The hardest part might be slowing down to listen for God's direction in the first place!
With that being said, here's some incredible options for you:
1) Family friendly Christian music Concert: Friday, March 25 at Bishop Verot's Theater, 7pm. Starring Sarah Hart and opening by local Catholic Rich Dittus. Buy tickets from Kristi- only $10 adult and $5 students in advance ($2 more at door).
2) Women's Day of Reflection with Sarah Hart: Saturday, March 26 at Resurrection Church, 9am- 2:30pm. Only $20 includes all materials, food and free babysitting (just let us know ahead of time!).
3) E-reflections, LENT 4.5: A weekly reflection guide based on Christian simplicity and ecological awareness. Incredibly easy to understand and thought provoking. Find out more here. If you'd like to receive them directly in your email inbox, click here.
4) Operation Rice Bowl: The cardboard collection rice bowls and calendars were distributed, and there's a few left if you need one. This has been a tradition in many Catholic homes for Lent. Find recipes, stories and even interactive videos online here.
5) Fish Frydays: Check our webpage or facebook page for details.
Remember- don't try to do it all! Lent is a time to slow down and listen for God's voice. What is God calling you and your family to? Do more? Do less? Be together as a family? Be more intentional? Pray more? Pray differently? Care for the earth? Whatever it is, you'll find the resources and like-minded folks at the parish... we're all in this journey together.
